Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Every journey starts with a first step. What is my first step?

Do I need to know exactly where I am going, or is it enough to have a vague idea - a dream - of something different?

Do I choose to focus on the obstacles and roadblocks, or the possibilities and hope of something better?

Hi, my name is Atlas, and I suffer from dysthymia. But  I DO NOT want to stay in that pit, where the serpents of despair writhe. I want to live free - free to love, and enjoy my life. My family is a big part of that. They are a part of me, that which is better than I am, and I will invest the best I can into their future, in hope that they are not in the pit when they are living free in their adult lives.

So we dream together of a family - a large family - on the road together, discovering a world of adventure, a world of struggles, a world of temptations and virtues and joy and challenges.

I write this in the hope that by doing so my brain will believe it, and my heart is able to act on it! And the questions above are something for me to meditate upon. How about you???
