How often do we miss the art and beauty all around us, either because we weren't expecting it, or because we are otherwise consumed with the mundane?
When I set out to photograph the traffic control cabinets around our town I hadn't noticed any more than 3 or 4 until I looked for them. Neither did I realise that we have very few controlled intersections. Instead we have round-about after round-about - something that a visitor pointed out to us years ago but we were so used to that it didn't register until today.
These cabinets have been in for a while now so aren't all pristine and fresh, but the sentiment of making the functional beautiful still stands.
Which ones have you seen? What is your favourite?
